



Burnham is often retained to identify, screen, analyze and negotiate the acquisition of businesses for various clients. For example, we have been engaged by a public entity seeking acquistions which will fit its business strategy while also optimizing various tax advantages and preserving control. Prior to our engagement, we established with corporate management detailed and discrete criteria to govern our assignment.
Burnham represented a private equity group in the acquisition of a defense-related business from a bankrupt subsidiary of a well-known insurance company. That business was sold by the private equity group at four times its purchase price, after less than three years.
